About

Full lyric mezzo-soprano Ruby Dibble “commands the stage with her powerful voice, agile movements, and captivating presence” (OperaWire.) Ruby is an extremely versatile artist: as a bilingual singer, she excels in French repertoire, while also being well versed in musical stylings ranging from contemporary classical to musical theater, pop and jazz. She is a Kansas City, Missouri native and is now based in New York City while she pursues an Artist Diploma in Opera Studies at The Juilliard School.

Dibble was a 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition national finalist, the first place winner of the 2024 Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition, a 2024 Marcella Sembrich International Voice Competition finalist, and the second place winner of the 2023 Cooper-Bing Competition. 

Dibble has lent her “dark-hued, plummy and rich mezzo soprano” (Opera Today) to roles including Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Marquise de Merteuil (The Dangerous Liasons), Flora (La Traviata), Elle (La Voix Humaine), and Carmen (Bel Canto.) Her concert work includes frequenting the Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center in several concerts under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin and making her Carnegie Hall recital debut as a member of the 2024 SongStudio.

Dibble holds a Bachelor’s of Music from Oberlin College & Conservatory and a Masters of Music from The Curtis Institute of Music. She is an alum of prestigious young artist programs such as the Santa Fe Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Glimmerglass Festival and Aspen Music Festival & School.

Dibble’s most recent engagements include performing Sesto (La clemenza di Tito) at the Juilliard School and covering Elizabeth Cree (Elizabeth Cree) at the Glimmerglass Festival. Ruby looks forward to performing upcoming roles such as Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti) at Annapolis Opera and Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmélites) at The Juilliard School, as well as her solo recital through Carnegie Hall’s Citywide concert series.
