About

Full lyric mezzo-soprano Ruby Dibble “commands the stage with her powerful voice, agile movements, and captivating presence” (OperaWire.) Ruby is an extremely versatile artist: as a bilingual singer, she excels in French repertoire, while also being well versed in musical stylings ranging from contemporary classical to musical theater, pop and jazz. She is a Kansas City, Missouri native and is now based in New York City while she pursues an Artist Diploma in Opera Studies at The Juilliard School.

She holds a Bachelors of Music from Oberlin College and Conservatory and a Masters of Music from The Curtis Institute of Music.  While at Curtis and Oberlin she performed roles including Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Elle (La Voix Humaine), and Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon.) Dibble has frequented Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in concerts under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Her professional engagements include Flora (La Traviata) at Wolf Trap Opera and Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. She also covered Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Santa Fe Opera.

Her awards and accolades include placing as a national finalist in the 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, winning first place in the 2024 Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition, winning second place in the 2023 Cooper-Bing Competition, and a placing as a semi finalist in the 2022 & 2023 Lotte Lenya Competition.

Under the tutelage of Renée Fleming, Ruby performed the role of Carmen (Bel Canto) at the Aspen Music Festival and made her Carnegie Hall debut as a member of SongStudio.

Ruby recently performed the role of Sesto in Juilliard’s production of La Clemenza di Tito and looks forward to covering the title role in the Glimmerglass Festival’s production of Elizabeth Cree.
